Scams and Fraud attempts warning

Good evening all,

As the festive season is here, there has been a significant rise in attempted scams and fraudulent emails being sent out to members of the public. The most common of these scams are:

-PayPal “Limiting your account” 

These emails will use the authentic PayPal template so will appear real at a glance. These scams will often try to get your PayPal login details from you, by pretending that your account will be locked permanently unless you “Confirm your information”. These emails are scams, and PayPal will NEVER communicate to you this way. If you aren't sure, do NOT click any links, close the email and contact PayPal via their official website. I have attached an image of such a scam. 

-UPS/DPD/Royal Mail “Failed Delivery posts”

These emails will often look genuine at a glance, and with the busy season approaching where online orders are common, you may believe you have missed a delivery! How can I tell these are real or fake? The easiest, safest method if you're not sure is to contact the company directly by going to their official website. Do NOT use any links or numbers provided on the email you suspect is fake. The company themselves will be able to tell you if the email in genuine or not when you contact them. You can also check the email address that was used to send the message. Most of these emails will appear genuine at a glance, but if you look closely some errors will be noticed, such as WWW.R0YALMAIL.POST.COM, where letters are swapped with numbers and the “.UK” isn't used. 

These scams will often ask you to pay a small sum in order to have your goods redelivered. NEVER click on any of these links. If you see these emails, report them for Phishing by Right Clicking on the email, and clicking on “Report”.
